Channel that Energy

Q: I am a stay at home mother with a very active 2-year-old boy who loves to play outside. With the summer heat almost here, I am trying to come up with ideas for activities to burn off his constant energy. Where can he play inside and interact with kids his age?

A: It is a challenge to have a very active child and fortunately there are indoor places to take him where he can participate in activities with other kids his age. One of my personal favorites is My Gym Children’s Fitness Center in Palm Desert. It provides a variety of activities and encourages structure, social and preschool skills. Not only will your son meet other kids his age, but you will meet other parents as well. You’ll really enjoy learning new songs and skills that you can take home and practice each week. Once your son has burned off some energy running around, you can always take him to your local library or book store. There are many benefits to encouraging your child to take an early interest in reading. He will love the quality time you spend together reading a book, especially if it is one he picks off the shelf.
